In December 2025, New Breed Empowerment focused on child development, women empowerment, job readiness, and community support across several programs.
At Stepping Stones Day Care Academy, the month began with a year-end educational outing to Birds Paradise in Robertson. The children experienced a joyful day of learning, discovering birds and wild animals in a safe and engaging environment. From 10 December, the Holiday Program was launched, serving an average of 30 children daily. The program emphasized educational games, creative activities, and structured learning during the school holidays.
The Word Works program responded to strong community demand in Boekenhoutkloof and Plakkerskamp by running five literacy classes in December. An average of eight women attended the sessions, showing strong commitment to improving their reading and language skills.
Through the Jobs and Skills Center, 21 students successfully completed the Job Excellence Course. During the month, two new local employers—M & S Splash Dance and Jamm Trade Services—were added, providing employment opportunities for 12 students from the centers. In addition, workforce partnerships resulted in a further 30 students gaining employment. One highlighted success story is Keeshia, who completed the Job Excellence Course and secured casual employment after finishing her matric exams.
December concluded with a large Christmas Drive, reaching approximately 300 children and adults. The event took place at Happy Valley Sports Ground in collaboration with local community leaders, churches, and organizations. Clothes, shoes, gifts, and sweets were distributed, alongside Christmas carols and performances by local artists. Due to the high volume of donations, the team was also able to visit nearby farms to extend support to additional families.
Overall, December 2025 was a month of strong community engagement, practical impact, and meaningful support for children, women, youth, and families.
