September was a month that reminded us why we do what we do - full of small moments that carried big meaning.
Together with New Breed Empowerment, we saw communities grow stronger, children dream bigger, and hope shine a little brighter in Bonnievale.
At Stepping Stones Day Care Academy, joy and learning came together. Parents dressed up for the Parenting with Courage evening - sharing laughter, a warm meal, and stories while discovering how the Word Works program helps their children learn through play and language.
The little ones celebrated Career Day, imagining what they might become one day, and welcomed the local Fire Department for an exciting visit on fire safety. Their curiosity filled the day with light. On Heritage Day, New Breed and Bonnievale Projects sponsored a community meal prepared by Jeanette Smith, feeding over 300 people. It was more than just food - it was a day of unity, gratitude, and shared pride in where we come from.
Meanwhile, the Word Works program officially took off in Mountain View and Happy Valley. Sixteen women and their children are now part of this growing literacy journey, guided by two dedicated teams of facilitators. It’s about more than reading - it’s about giving children and parents the power of words, and the belief that every story matters.
The Jobs and Skills Center continued to change lives - 26 students completed the Job Excellence course, 10 finished their online training, and 21 have already found employment. Each success story reminds us how opportunity can transform a future.
And perhaps the most exciting moment came with the opening of Bonnievale’s very first recording studio - a place where young, local artists can create, perform, and dream. A space built not only for music, but for confidence, expression, and hope.
Each of these moments tells one story - of people who stand together, hand in hand. With New Breed Empowerment, we continue our journey true to our purpose: standing beside, not above, and helping build dignity, opportunity, and a better tomorrow for all.September Report
