After the transition to Spirit Foundation, we took time to rethink who we are as an ASBL and how we want to continue supporting communities in South Africa. For many years, we had carried one large project almost entirely on our own. It was meaningful, but also demanding - and it became clear that our future should look different: lighter, more flexible, and fully focused on collaboration rather than ownership.
We wanted to return to the essence of why Bonnievale Projects Luxembourg was created in the first place - to support local people, local initiatives, and local leadership. Not to run everything ourselves, but to stand beside those who understand their communities best.
Out of this reflection emerged our partnership with New Breed Empowerment.
From the first conversations, it felt like the right fit. Their mindset, their heart, and their way of working aligned naturally with our own values.
They believe in giving children a safe start in life, in supporting young people with real opportunities, and in protecting women so they can live with dignity and strength.
What impressed us most was how deeply rooted they are in their community. They don’t arrive with big promises, they listen first. They build programs slowly, grounded in real needs, guided by trust and relationships. Their work carries the same spirit that shaped our first steps in Bonnievale: respect, presence, and the belief that meaningful change grows from the inside.
Today, we support several of New Breed Empowerment’s initiatives - from early childhood development and community services to youth development and victim support.
Our role is simple: we help create the financial foundation for their work while remaining fully voluntary as an ASBL in Luxembourg. They lead on the ground, and we stand with them at every step.
This new partnership feels like a continuation of our story, but also like a fresh start.
A reminder that impact doesn’t come from doing everything alone, but from walking together with people who share the same vision.
With New Breed Empowerment, we see a future where dignity, safety, and opportunity are not wishes, but something real, something growing, something shared.
